Mailbox Access

If you’re already renting storage from us, you’ll get 24/7 access to your private mailbox via your gate access code - enter through the 24/7 door on the storage hallway. 

For other mailbox customers, you’ll have access during our normal business hours, which are Monday-Saturday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Private Mail Boxes

How Do I Apply?

Follow these simple steps to secure a private mailbox: 

  • Apply for a box online or in person

  • Come to the office to present ID and fill out a PS Form 1583

  • Wait for verification (up to 48 hours)

  • Pay for your box and you’re good to go!

Valid Forms of ID

Two valid forms of ID are required before you can get your keys: 

  • One must have a photograph and must be presented in person

  • The other must prove your physical address

Photo ID options include: 

  • Valid driver’s license

  • State-issued non-driver ID card

  • Armed forces, government, university, or corporate ID card

  • Passport, passport card, alien registration card, or certificate of naturalization

  • Social Security cards, credit cards, and birth certificates are not acceptable forms of ID


Payment

Payment is due on the same day of the month that the box was opened, and it renews monthly unless you take advantage of prepay discounts.

  • Once payment is 5 days late, mail will be held and late fees applied

  • Pay in person Monday-Saturday from 9am-5pm

  • Pay online by making an account - credit and ACH checks only

  • Mail payments to: 

    • Elmwood Self Storage and Wine Cellar

    • 1004 South Clearview Parkway

    • Harahan, LA 70123 

  • Payment must arrive before the due date, or late fees apply. Do not mail cash!

Private Mailbox Keys

  • One key issued per mailbox

  • Refundable $10 key deposit due at rental

  • If lost, a $25 lock change fee will be applied

  • Lock change can take up to 24 hours

  • New key will be issued after lock change

Mail Forwarding

  • Elmwood Self Storage will only forward (re-mail) your mail if you have terminated the box in good standing and have prepaid for the service.

  • Enjoy forwarding for $10 for the first month and $5./month for 2-6 months

  • Packages won’t be forwarded, but we can hold on to them for $5/month/package if you have mail forwarding

  • $2 service fee to pick up packages
